The Consortium aims to demonstrate innovative sustainable energy solutions that consider climate adaptation and mitigation potential compared to other solutions in the African social, economic, and environmental contexts. Our solution will create the conditions for safe, reliable, and affordable energy for urban and off-grid communities. The Consortium plans to enable a Circular Economy for the Lake Victoria fishing and agricultural environment that considers the Renewable Energy, Water, and Food Nexus, to provide sustainable energy access and create improved health, economic wealth, and jobs. The overall objective of this project is to create a Circular Economy in-line with the EU’s own Circular Economy Action Plan for a Cleaner and More Competitive Europe by implementing and exploiting innovative energy solutions for a sustainable Lake Victoria Fish Value Chain. Not only will it answer the Energy-Water-Food Nexus, but it will also enhance the income and create job opportunities for the population surrounding the Lake region.
